Since my last posting, I have sat down on four different occasions to deliver another of my wicked mint entries. My thoughts, however, are detrimentally spiraling together: So numerous are the subjects that I wish to write on that I have not written anything at all.
I would very much like to compare this year’s hiking journey to last year’s. Here is how I would describe both trips if I had only magnet poetry and 30 seconds:
day hiking last Friday
very different from last year’s trip
realized that last year
we truly were hiking for our lives
not as exciting
less potential for death
but still good
I also want to write about auditioning as of late and my ongoing quest for 3D shades. I want to chatter on about some interesting folks I met while traveling. I would like to rant about some new annoyances and recount the hilarious things I heard people say while I was home. Mostly, I want to describe the progress that I have made with my screenplay.
It will have to wait, though, (and I hope you will kindly wait as well,) for I am instead going to set to finishing my screenplay. Right now.
OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
