Several years ago I watched the short "More" by Mark Osborne on AtomFilms.com. It was done with stop-action animation/claymation and for some reason, it still pops into my head every once and a while. It has a sort of haunting beauty. I think the music has a lot to do with the emotional response. It's amazing how important music is in film. Even the absence or sparsity of music has an effect on the experience.

Oh, I almost forgot Scott Prendergast's work at www.inastateof.com - specifically "The Delicious" and "Anna is Being Stalked."

I can't strongly enough recommend Hal Hartley's "Possible Films" collection, especially for "The New Math(s)" and "Sisters of Mercy."
Also, Film Movement DVDs each have a short film, and many of those are great. Google "Film Movement" and subscribe. |
