"I trust myself," the most telling comment in your post that you are truly becoming a screenwriter. Stick with it. I've written several screenplays and I've found that feedback can be a multi-edged sword. You are best served when you can glean from their commentary not what they say needs to be changed, but, the things about your work that motivated them to think it needed changes. If you can discern why they were bothered then you can attack the problem in your own way, not try to put someone else's bandaid on it.
Being true to yourself will allow you to accept rejection better because you made an honest attempt. And when you make your inevitable sale (it has to be inevitable, doesn't it?) you will know it is because they liked what YOU wrote. Until then you can at least be pleased with your own work. That's why we put ourselves through this, isn't it?

One day. I found the best way to not use the internet is go to some place where the internet doesn't exist. Or close enough to it.
I went to Germany and didn't use the 'net for a whole week back in May. I was pretty proud of myself.
Blame Wil and Nickerblog for sending me your way.

Well I don’t know anything about screenwriting, but if I can be of service as a technical advisor, let me know. Ooh, maybe I could be the resident rocket scientist!

You got the goods, girl. The words. Don't give 'em away. Make something real.
Somebody's got to raise the bar!

I trust you. And I also think you should let all your JSDC regulars proof your script Who needs professionals anyway - be true to yourself and it will be so much more meaningful for you. And that will come through in your words.
For the record I love Pirates of the Caribbean :p And yes, it would have sucked bad if it weren't for Johnny Depp's genius... he definitely trusts himself and it shows.
"Free your mind, and the rest will follow... da da daaaaaa, da da da da da da..." (I'm just procrastinating from work ATM, ignore me)
