Hell, I walk 3 miles round trip every day to the office and back. Of course, the streets of Manhattan are somewhat level, but with the melting snow and standing water you do get wet and dirty from time to time...

Luxury.
When I was kid, my father would thrash us to sleep with a broken bottle-- if we were lucky!

Where do I sign up?

How about:
Enjoy the beauty of hang gliding! Class covers: 1) basic ground school--aerodynamics, air movement and glider performance; 2) ground handling, harness functions and take-off techniques; and 3) beginning flight--practice take-offs, pitch control and glides in teams of three from a 30-foot hill.

Blue Water sailing - that is a challenging activity. I've only done sailing (piloting, really) very close to shore, but blue water sailing is on my list. My kid just needs to be old enough to help! wink

Neat. Kinda reminds me of when I went bungee jumping in the Angeles National Forest with a group from Bungee America (http://www.bungeeamerica.com/). That involved a four mile hike to a "Bridge to Nowhere", up and down hillsides and cliffs, across several waist deep rivers. At the end of the day I wound up finding the hike to and back more exciting than the bungee jumping itself.

Love rappeling!!
The first time, there is something a little unnatural about walking backwards off of a cliff, (same as the first time cliff jumping, even though one does that frontwards,) but after that there is nothing better than kicking out from the wall and falling down the rope.
