There doesn't seem to be a lot about this in the press these days...or at least it isn't the lead story anymore. Are we close to any type of resolution, or will I be stuck watching Design to Sell and Small Space, Big Style episodes every night, along with Law & Order re-runs? |

Curtis - My impression is that this thing is going to go into the New Year and if we're lucky, may wrap up before March. March is the drop dead date when the next Fall TV Season will get scrapped. I.e., if the strike continues past March, this years new shows will just be repurposed as the NEW Fall shows for 2008. That would represent a big monetary nightmare for the networks, so people are saying if it wraps up quickly in the New Year it will be by March. If it goes past late February, expect it will go through June.
None of the options are good, IMHO. |

| Maybe if you were dressed in bondage gear and spoke Japanese then it would work. Ok, just kidding but seriously I blame the people who just don't get great ideas, AKA every one who didn't make the idea. I know the feeling albeit not on such a large scale. I've relegated myself to podcasts for now. >.< BUT I'LL GET THERE ONE DAY! Maybe... |

I've always been pretty good at mediation, maybe I should go out there and settle this. What is the quote? You can tell you've reached a good compromise if both sides are unhappy?
I think the public isn't really absorbing the issue yet, because there are still some new shows on the air (there is a new NCIS on tonight, for example). Once they run out of new shows and everyone is stuck watching "Battle of the Carolers" (wtf?!) and nothing but reality shows and re-runs of Trading Spaces (Paige Davis - yum!) then the general public may start an outcry.
I gave up Two and a Half Men this season, but last night I was watching it because it was "new to me". I try to only watch an hour per day, but I really do enjoy that hour.
Can you tell I had 2 cups of coffee this morning (I'm out of decaf)? I think this is the longest comment I've left in a while... |

one possibly good thing about the strike side effect is that we'll be watching less TV. which means we'll have (time) to find something else to do.
And I wonder what kind of crap they turned down in favor of these lame reality shows. or maybe what good stuff got rejected so they could green light such lameness. |
